The author, Natalie Goldberg, shares brilliant insights designed to help the reader approach their work with a Zen mindset. Ms. Goldberg quotes several Zen masters and uses examples from her own experiences to illustrate her points. I bookmarked over half a dozen pages that I want to revisit, but one of my favorite pearls of writing advice is, \u201cStay fluid behind those black-and-white words. They are not you. They were a great moment going through you. A moment you were awake enough to write down and capture.\u201d A lot of the wisdom in this book applies to other creative forms like painting, as well.
